Yesterday on the subway ride home from Pratt in Brooklyn, I finally got a chance to finish your book. I actually wished my commute to school was longer so I could get a few pages further.

The simplicity of your book is great. It’s personal, to the point and a bit of relief at a very hectic stage in life. I’ve already recommended it to people at Pratt, because everyone has these questions and sometimes it seems that even our instructors (who work at major NYC agencies) don’t have the answers.

The individual interviews you include, both written and on the DVD, are especially helpful. The DVD in particular is something I haven’t seen before. It allowed me to relate to the interviewees on a certain level that a name and a title can’t capture in a printed interview. The descriptions of New York City are dead on, too. The section on Greenpoint, Brooklyn, (where I currently live) is accurate to the last detail – even listing my two favorite bars.

I appreciate the level of detail you put into describing the advertising industry and how to get ahead. Thanks again for writing this book. It was a welcome sight.
